Fiber Artist

I got my start in Traditional Rug Hooking in the late 1990's.  A friend presented me with a hook and backing and told me that I would be a natural.  Naturally, and many loops, hours, days, friendships and study...I still am "hooked."

I have been a visual and textile artist for as long as I can remember.  Early adventures started with my Nonna, an Italian immigrant who could execute ANYTHING she set her mind to--leaving the knot-tying and de-tailoring to the us young-uns.

Any kind of art, and several years as a teacher's aid in the Public School system while a teenager established a pattern and love of teaching.  Learning to sew, embroider, draw, paper dolls, beads, pottery, teaching secondary ed and ... and the need to create resulted in a degree in ART at UC,Berkeley.

Two now-adult children, home daycare and 25 years in back-office, independent, community banking--information systems and item processing contributed to the crazy lady I have become.

Welcome to my world of COLOR, texture, textiles and ...

Always at least one rug in progress. Soon a picture of me

Finding a presence on the Web:

Presence... NOUN:  The state or fact of existing, occurring, or being present in a place or thing...

Here I am, starting the beginning of a site that shares my rugs, my vision and a little bit of NEW MEXICO TRUE.

Even though I am transplanted, New Mexico is home--heart and soul. I cannot imagine living or working anywhere else.
